Visual merchandising.

we were asked to design a window display for a product. Dimension of the window 14 *2* 12 feet. I chose to design the same for a lighting firm that dealt with lights inspired from marine life. Therefore the theme of my window display is inspired from underwater, with props such as mermaids, coral made up of paper origami, coushioned rock. I have also used suspended fibre optic wires to create a dramatic effect of sparkling water.

Design Methodology

Design Methodology

The process as involved in the Design methodology includes gathering detailed information about the client. His likes, dislikes, colors that he/she likes and more.

Once all the information is collected, the main points or words are highlighted.

These highlighted words are further considered and studied deeply. For example, my client preferred cream and white tones most. Relation of these words are taken and organized such that we get designs that are new, innovative and match with the likes of the client. Taking this, I opted for moon. It is the first and the most relevant thing that came in my mind, thinking of these keywords.

Once this was done, I started generating shapes out of the moon, different shapes, weird shapes. This is the process of brainstorming. Once this was done, I selected one shape, that matched with the furniture requirement of the client. And again started stylizing that particular shape further. This gave me a much better and stylized version of moon’s shape for the furniture.

Then, I added further details, like shelves for display and  a niche for storage and more.
