What is landscape design?  There are many definitions, but they all more or less describe it with the same essence in mind.  To most in the profession, it is the art of designing or re-designing a bland piece of land into a landscape that is more visually appealing to the human eye and, in some cases, a more practical use of the land.  Usually built around homes or spacious buildings, these landscapes include basic elements such as new grass, various types of bushes and shrubbery, trees, and flowers.  Other elements that may be included at the discretion of the client are stones, ponds, tiled rock or stone paths, very small waterfalls and streams, rock gardens, and even small pieces of architecture.  All these elements are combined in various ways and are mostly presented using organic paths and shapes cut into and out of the land.  The amount of space in…
